ATTENTION 3RD AND 4TH GRADE FAMILIES! PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP THIS A SECRET FROM YOUR STUDENT! Please remember that tonight, Friday April 25th, you can come to the elementary school to sign our "Walls of Encouragement" to give your student a little extra boost for their upcoming MAP test!! We would love to see as many parents show up to support our students as possible! You can come to the first set of doors when you pull into the parking lot of the elementary and someone will be there to guide you to the walls! We will be at the elementary from 4-7pm tonight and then from 12pm to 5pm on Sunday! If you have any questions or concerns please call the elementary office! Mark you calendars for Thursday, May 15th, when Steelville Middle School will present The Best Little Theater in Town at Meramec Music Theater! Doors will open at 6:45 PM, and the show will begin at 7:00 PM. Admission is FREE!!! Here's a little blurb about the musical: Due to a lack of funds, James P. Pennypacker (a shady accountant) announces that he'll have to shut down "The Best Little Theater in Town." That's when the theater's owner, Mrs. Goodman, popular director Cecille Deville, and the tightly-knit cast go into action! The SHS Baseball Team has been given the opportunity to play at the Gateway Grizzlies Stadium in Sauget, Illinois! Coach Earney says, "This is a really special opportunity that I am hoping we can do annually." The team has to meet a minimum number of ticket sales to be able to play in the future. Tickets are only $5 each, and each ticket sale helps the team, whether you attend the game or not! Last Friday, several SHS FCCLA members enjoyed their spring field trip to the St.Louis Zoo, followed by lunch at HuHot Mongolian Grill, and some time shopping at the mall. A good day was had by all! #SHS #FCCLA

2026 Easter Egg Appeal! The Steelville School District is planning a community egg hunt for 2026! To make it happen, we are seeking donations of plastic eggs for the children to hunt. New or Used eggs are fine as long as they are not broken. If you have extra empty eggs after this weekend’s egg hunts and you would like to donate them, you can drop them off at any of the building offices, including SHS, SMS, SES, and Central Office. We will also accept new Easter themed non-food items, like little toys, pencils, coloring books, etc! We are super excited to plan this event next year, and we hope to make it so successful that it becomes a new spring tradition! Thank you so much for your support!

Today, SMS had a guest speaker, Linda Kozlowski, from Prevention Consultants! She talked about lots of ways for students to stay safe! #SMS

Our kitchens put out some really great meals the past couple of weeks! Staff and students enjoyed salads, roasted turkey, meatloaf, their beloved chicken patty, and more! They even enjoyed a special dessert today! #SSD #Kitchens #TimeToEat

Yesterday, several of our Steelville students competed in the Special Olympics! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day, and the students had such a great time showing off all of their skills and talents! Way to go, Cardinals! #SHS #SMS #SES #SpecialOlympics
