Parents As Teachers

About PAT
Parents as Teachers is a parent education program that supports parents in their role as their child’s first and most influential teacher. The Parents as Teachers research-based curriculum is used to educate parents about child development and parenting issues. All services are free of charge to Steelville School District residents.

Home Visitation for children prenatal to kindergarten age

Parent-Child Activities
Group Connections
Research has shown that children who participate in the PAT program are more advanced in language, social development, problem solving, and other cognitive abilities starting at 3 years of age compared to children who do not participate in PAT.
