Hey, Cardinals! Our SHS Lady Cardinals are moving on to the Quarterfinals! They will face off against Portageville Lady Bulldogs @ Portageville High School this Saturday, March 8th, at 3PM! Enter the number of tickets, then checkout
Tickets will be sent to you electronically for presentation at the gate for admission! They may be printed or remain on your device for scanning.
The pre-sale will expire at 9 AM on Saturday, at which time the remaining tickets will be available to the public. Email support@hometownticketing.com for purchase support.
Alternatively, the game will be available for free to stream (audio only) at kmisradio.com, or you can pay to view the live video stream via MSHSAA.TV.

Tryouts will take place on April 4th from 3:45 PM to 6:00 PM at the SMS gym. We will have Tryout Practices on April 1st through April 3rd from 3:45 PM until 5:30 PM each day. Please wear black shorts, a black or red t-shirt, and tennis shoes! Students MUST have a physical on file to attend.
If you have any questions, please contact Brittany West at bwest@steelville.k12.mo.us. Video submissions will be accepted no later than April 5th for students participating in a separate extra curricular activity that interferes with tryouts! Kindergarten screening for the upcoming kindergarten class of 2025-2026 is coming up this month!!!
Date: Friday, March 21st, 2025
Location: Steelville Central Office (817 W Main Street)
Schedule: Please call the elementary office at (573) 775-2099 to schedule. Call as soon as possible, because appointment spots fill quickly! Appointment times will be 30-minute appointments, with availability from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
What to bring: Please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, shot record, court documentation (custody/guardianship/parenting plans/other), and proof of residency (for example electric bill or rental agreement).
Information: Your child will be screened while parents/guardians fill out registration paperwork and an assessment tool. When your child has finished their screening, a staff member will review their results with a parent/guardian.

SES earned a reward on Friday due to the outstanding review they received from our state PBIS reps! The reps said SES, students and teachers alike, were rocking their PBIS expectations, which help create a safe and positive environment for all. The Cardinal Code states that students and staff are respectful, responsible, and safe in all circumstances!

Evan has qualified to compete in the State Tournament for Speech Competition at Missouri State University in April.

This morning, SES 2nd through 4th graders and their guests enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast for Pancakes with Peeps! We can't think of a better way to start the morning than this!
Next Friday, March 7th from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM it's our Kindergarteners' and 1st Graders' turn to celebrate this super fun event!!!
Today, SES 2nd graders celebrated their annual Pies and Poems event! Each student had thoughtfully crafted a poem dedicated to their chosen guest – a parent, grandparent, sibling, or friend – and proudly read their creations aloud, and then they all enjoyed some yummy pie! This is always such a fun day for 2nd grade!

Last night for round 2 of Districts, our SHS Boys' Basketball team beat Dixon, the number 1 seeded team at Districts, with a score of 64 to 58! Way to go, Cards!!!
Tomorrow they'll play in the District Championship game at Belle High School against Fatima, the number 2 seeded team, at 6PM.
