Yesterday, the SHS Yearbook Staff spent the day visiting local businesses and asking for their support of this year's book. The love and support they received from these businesses were tremendous! We greatly appreciate them and wanted to give them the shoutouts they deserved!

We had a fantastic turnout at our Winter Awards Night, where we celebrated the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes! We recognized athletes from middle and high school wrestling, middle and high school basketball, middle and high school cheer, and high school poms.

We are officially in the season where we are starting to make plans for the next school year!!! Ms. Sherrill, SHS Counselor, met with our SMS 8th graders to talk about their high school courses yesterday! Mookie was more than happy to offer some emotional support belly rubs to the students as they made their plans!
This is just a small selection of the incredible pinch pots SHS artists have made recently! For many students, this was their first time working with clay. We are so impressed with the creativity and skill that went into these! ☺️

SHS Art I-III students are wrapping up their Form + Texture unit with coil pots. Several students have developed some pretty impressive forms using coil techniques!
Miss Cottrell’s 1st grade students were hard at work creating and sharing their book presentations! Students added a new skill of Google Slides presentations to their learning toolbox. We also had some fabulous artists create posters with information as well. Our class enjoyed listening and learning!!

Hey, Cardinals! Next week, March 25th through the 28th, will be our SHS Dance Team Tryouts! Tryouts will take place in the Steelville Elementary cafeteria, and are open to all students who will be in 9th through 12th grade next year, 2025-2026. Students MUST have a physical on file PRIOR TO the first day of tryouts!!!
Remember to dress appropriately: Tennis shoes or jazz shoes and no tight fitting clothing

Congratulations to these SHS students, who were selected to play in the 2025 GVC Band! Mr. Nicks and these students spent the day yesterday with staff and students from Cuba, Bourbon, Belle, and Viburnum. The band director from each district taught the GVC band a piece, and then the band concluded the day with a concert, where they performed each of the pieces they learned.
